To say that I have the best work family is an understatement. Each week, our department (Residence Life) has a Tea Time, a dedicated time for any student, staff, or faculty to come together to ask questions, learn about the department, and meet new people in general. A member of our department also has the option of hosting the Tea Time and providing a theme. This past Tea Time, Diana and Stephanie in the office held us a wedding shower and it was amazing!
Diana is a creative soul that goes all out when she has her mind set on something. I knew it would be good when she started decorating 2 hours before! Just before the start, she walks into the office with a Bridal Sash for me and Button for Scott. She pulls us into the hallway, guiding us to the door. I see a row of 6 police officers, and students in the room. Stephanie announces us and we walk in with everyone clapping! Talking about calling attention to us! I'm sure I must have been bright red! They sat us at the head of the conference table and poured us two glasses of sparkling cider. There begun the toast and roast of Scott and Krystal. Most of what came were questions of how we met and how he proposed, two of them gave us a toast as well. It was a great time! Diana also made a cake, probably the first funfetti wedding cake, but it was soo amazing! It was double layered, with vanilla icing, roses for AOII, and an owl for our KSU mascot. It is an understatement to keep saying how amazing Diana is.. We finished the hour with a priceless and perfect surprise. Everyone at Tea Time was given bubbles, and Diana had decorated the department golf cart for us to have a getaway vehicle! It has Just (About) Married written on the back with solo cups tied to it! It was probably the funniest and most adorable thing I have ever seen!
